We help musicians affected by the war to play again
We help Ukrainian musicians with charity songs. Together with the Czech-Ukrainian singer Viktoria Surmøva, we transformed our hit "Nechtena" into an acoustic version. The song is an encouragement to all people who were robbed of their homes, country, and the opportunity to play music by the war. Proceeds from each stream go towards the purchase of musical instruments.
"War is always a great evil, and ordinary people suffer the most in it. In the spirit of the motto, musicians for musicians, we decided to help Ukrainian musicians who were deprived of the opportunity to play by the senseless war. As a band, we like to help specific people, so we donate tools where they can help make a living again and return to the profession they love. Music has a great curative and healing power, and even in the darkest times it can ignite the flame of hope for a better life," describes the circumstances of the creation of the song, singer and guitarist, George Rain.
In addition to the musical changes, "Unwanted" also received language changes. Part of the text is now sung in Ukrainian by Viktorie Surmøva who has roots in the Eastern European country. "My dad is Ukrainian and the coming of the war hit me hard. But instead of tears and depression, I decided to help by working and singing. When George offered me female vocals in 'Nechtena', I didn't hesitate for a second. The emotional charge of the original text acquired an even more dimension in Ukrainian. A big thank you goes to producer Jaro Celujek, from the JARO SOUND studio, who musically produced the entire piece without the right to a fee. Like me, they feel a human duty to help our fellow humans in this dark time," comments Viktorie on her involvement.
