SEBASTIEN release the first cover of their career - ‘Slzy tvý mámy’ by OLYMPIC - as a duet with Laďa Křížek
SEBASTIEN are currently releasing the second single from their upcoming album "Quo Vadis" called "Slzy tvý mámy" as the first cover in the band’s history.
It is a tribute to the legendary Czech band OLYMPIC and a gift to their 60th anniversary at the same time: "I grew up listening to the music of OLYMPIC and it influenced me immensely. Thanks to their songbook, I once learned to play the guitar. I used my saved lunch money to buy their CDs. For all of us, it is simply a great legend and the Czech ROLLING STONES! "Slzy tvy mamy" is a wonderful and completely timeless song; that's why we decided to pay an imaginary tribute to Peter Janda and the OLYMPIC band with our duet," the band leader George comments. The song is performed by SEBASTIEN as an exclusive duet with Láďa Křížek (CITRON, KREYSON), who - just to make sure there are enough 60s - also recently celebrated his sixtieth birthday.
Pavel Hanus performed on acoustic guitar in this song and thus completed the Citron trio at the time. The vocals were recorded in Pavel Hejč's studio (VITACIT), the mix and mastering of the recording was handled by none other than Roland Grapow (MASTERPLAN, ex-HELLOWEEN). The video clip was created in the premises of the Prague Rock Opera, where George Rain recently got engaged in several roles.
The author and original performer of the song, Petr Janda, also took part in the filming of the clip, and contributed to an unusually friendly atmosphere between the two men - Petr Janda and Láďa Křížek - during the filming, which until recently seemed like a completely unrealistic scenario. The album "Quo Vadis" is released on June 28 by Smile Music records.
